B&R Moll Introduces Integrated In-Line
Rotary Die-Cutter & Folder/Gluer System

Warminster, pA – March 2, 2015 – B&R Moll, Inc., the industry’s leading supplier of folder/gluers and specialized bindery finishing equipment for printing and packaging facilities, has developed the Rotary Die-Cutter System – a combined in-line finishing machine specifically designed to integrate complex die-cutting, folding and gluing functions on a range of sheet-fed media and packaging up to 22pt paper stock.

“With the integration of so many different functions into a single finishing system, our Rotary Die-Cutter enables printers and packagers to keep most of their finishing processes in-house,” said Kevin Moll, regional sales manager for B&R Moll, Inc. “This system’s ability to run ‘multiple up’ jobs at high speed with no changeover or handling between machines means that printers can reduce labor costs and increase profits. And, like all B&R Moll machines, they are made 100% in the USA.”

The Rotary Die-Cutter System incorporates an upper flexo magnetic cylinder with flexible dies to handle “kiss-cuts” and cut-scoring for virtually any shape and size materials up to 22pt paper stock. The system includes top suction air feeder with four adjustable suction heads, and a registration system with side guides, head stops and gripper fingers; as well as a sheet counter and a double-sheet detector.

Designed to deliver onto a receding stacker or a pallet, the Rotary Die-Cutter System integrates seamlessly with B&R Moll’s optional stripping unit to remove waste material, and pairs with their proven Versa-Fold and Dial-A-Stack machines to combine die-cutting, stripping, folding, gluing, and stacking in a single in-line finishing system. This integration gives the Rotary Die-Cutter System the capability of handling a wide range of finishing projects, including: pocket folders, CD wallets, boxes, key card sleeves, door hangers, greeting cards or coffee cup sleeves. The system can also perform kiss-cuts, perforating and handle irregular shaped stock.

The Rotary Die-Cutter System handles material ranging from 20lb. paper stock to 22pt. paper board (100 – 400 g/m²) in sheet sizes ranging from 8 x 8 inches (203 x 203mm) up to 30 x 24 inches (762 x 610mm).  Maximum throughput ranges from 5,000 to 7,000 sheets per hour, depending on complexity.  The system is available for either 220V 3-phase, 60A/60Hz or 400V 3-phase, 60A/50Hz power connections and a 90psi (0.7mPa) compressed air connection.
