B&R Moll’s Premier 36 Folder/Gluer System Runs Large-Format Print Media with Multiple Insertions

WICKFORD, ESSEX, UK – 30 September, 2014 – B&R Moll, Inc., the industry’s leading supplier of folder/gluers and specialized bindery finishing equipment for printing and packaging facilities, has developed the Premier 36 System – a folder/gluer machine specifically designed to perform complex folding and gluing tasks on larger-format (920mm wide) print media, including projects involving multiple inserts, pharmaceutical and credit card requirements.

The Premier 36 System folder/gluer incorporates many of the innovative folding and feeding mechanisms developed by B&R Moll, including segmented “Sure-Grip” fold rollers with automatic settings, and a main buckle fold plate with removable ribs and a stainless steel back plate to prevent marking and static build-up. Two movable tipper plates can be positioned anywhere on the extended in-feed table, and the air-pile feeder features dual suction air wheels to ensure a positive feed. The all belt-driven feed system is more than six feet long, consisting of two separate stage belts (5cm and 7.62mm wide) with removable pans and a standard Dial-A-Stack unit.

“Our Premier 36 System enables printers to automate complex folding and gluing processes on large-format pieces with an in-line capability,” said Darren Vernon, director of Moll International. “Previously, many of these types of jobs could only be accomplished by hand, so the Premier 36 folder/gluer represents a real efficiency boost for finishing shops.”

The Moll Premier 36 System handles material ranging from 140-500g/m²  (70lb. cover to 28pt.) stocks in sizes ranging from 139 x 139mm (5.5 x 5.5 inches) up to 920mm x 920mm (36 x 36 inches).  Maximum linear speed is 130m/min (425ft/min).  The system is available for either 400V 3-phase, 60A/50Hz or 220V 3-phase, 60A/60Hz power connections and a 0.7mPa (90psi) compressed air connection.
